Generator Magazine nowhere to be found.
I searched every self-storage buildings, warehouses, libraries, post offices but I still couldn't find it. Am I searching in the wrong places? Where's the best place to find it?

Thanks in advance.

There is no best place.
School libraries. Bookshelves. Mailboxes. Mail truck trunk.
RNG is your best friend or your worst enemy.

Question, do you need the manual before you can run the generator?

The RNG on books and magazines is really something else. On my current run I found 5 generator magazines in Rosewood while looking for the heavy duty mechanics magazine which was nowhere to be found around the town, bookstore, school, gas stations and mechanic shops nearby, so I had to travel to Muldraugh to finally find it in a bookstore.

You can either read the manual or start as an Electrician.

The "lucky" trait really seems to help in finding stuff. I wanna say its OP.

hm, thats a multiplayer thing, or single player as well? Cause dude I am finding a ton of things. I have 10 sledgehammers, 10 pickaxe, 100 hammers, 50 axes, 50 drivable cars. 20 crowbars, 30 crates full of canned food, 5 fridges full of frozen food. 100 duct tape, 50 wood glue, 200 lead/metal pipes. 20 machete, a couple katanas. I had every book by the end of the first week, all of them.

I'm new, but judging by the posts I read, and the videos I've watched, I don't think I'm this lucky w/o the trait. Everything is set on rare.

With items set to "rare" there is no way you should be finding that many axes unless you loot the entire map, and even then, I really doubt that many axes are to be found.
Lucky trait is not OP like that.

I didnt find them all over the map, I found most of them at the lumberyard, and the warehouse above the mechanic which is above the hotel in mardaugh. The rest come from zombies, and just from various houses and such I have looted. I have massive amounts of tools. I have 8000 nails from boxes and are baffled why people say to get them from disassembling furniture. I dont even loot much anymore, all I loot now is canned foods. I felt like a hoarder, like I was overplaying.

This is why I am confused at these posts and responses. Like yours for instance. I am totally new, I am just now getting to my first winter and still have the power/electricity on. I'm not far into the game, and this is my first game I've ever played. Yet, I keep seeing these comments about how hard something is to find, and then told I'm wrong, or in some way lying or exaggerating. I'm not, I even put up screenshots. I have been attributing this to the lucky trait, although it could be fantastic rng. but from everything? And now, I wonder are the people frequent in this forum doing alot of looting? I do see alot of support and comments for stealthing etc. That sorta playstile is generally slower in most games. I have looted about 80% of maurdaugh by now. Also, I havent been using these axes, I have been using metal bars, and w/e junk I find. Saving the axes up since I was under the impression they were so rare. Is it possible you guys dont realize how many you have gone through, mayhaps by using them as you go along?

They are only disabled in multiplayer.
