Generators. I connected one to my house after power was shut off yet it is cold in the house.
The day before power shut off it was a cozy 22* in November
With Generator connected my heat inside is now 8*
Is this normal?

It seems the heater system broke when power shutoff, just to make us more suffer y'know.

Okay thanks. I was thinking about the wood stove. So my water is shut off too. I had built 3 rain collectors on top of a makeshift shack in front yard. The plan was to build a running faucet/Sink on bottom floor underneath the rain collectors, yet when I try to disassemble a sink I fail. What to do about that?
I have been leaving empty pots out in the rain as well and boiling water
