Moving certain light sources.

Moving antique lights from one building to another disables them completely (cannot turn on/off cannot remove bulb/no light emits) and putting them back does nothing as well. They are just now a dead object.

Is this the case with every other light source in game so I don't go around grabbing up neon signs just to have them no longer work in my base?

Neon signs have worked fine when I've moved them to my base. Never tried with antique lights. I've also moved normal outdoor lights (the ones attached to the wall of a house next to the door) and lamps and they've continued to work after moving.

I see. Do they just not work in player made base walls? Do I have to attach them to the prefabs for them to work?

Do you have a generator running in your player made base? If not, I don't believe any powered device will have power.

I'm not super knowledgeable about entirely homemade bases as I always just repurpose an existing building as my base.

You need a power source.
IF the light you put in does not have an option to remove bulb, AND you do have power...
go get a light bulb and try to see if you can now ADD A LIGHT BULB

After you recover from your Deeeeerpiness, remember that working light bulbs will burn out as well. After you get it working again, one day very very soon, it will be "broken" again. Time to get another bulb. Soon you will start pulling light bulbs from every lamp and fixture and car you see just to keep your base lit.

There is a mod that makes bulbs last longer if you find you are burning through bulbs every time you turn around...
