There is a mod that uses tongs though, Blacksmith by soulfilcher uses it's own tongs for smithing. The tongs you find in the kitchen are ordinary salad tongs that would probably melt if you used them for any kind of smithing work. I don't think those salad tongs have a use yet as you can make salad's without them.

If i am not confusing them with another item(sorry localized language) then they are also used to remove glass pieces from your wound, should you encounter this VERY rare wound.

How do you treat your own shoulder with tweezers? Gives me a thought: would be cool in MP enabled advanced first aid stuff. Or maybe NPCs when they come?

A blind gymnast might pull it off, with a decent anesthetic.

Nah. It is not that hard actually. Requires some practice and some semi decent coordination. (I am no athlete and i can treat some stuff i need to on my back and my shoulders)
