Cannot attach sling

I have the sling, screwdriver, and a js2000 shotgun in my main inventory but do not get the upgrade option

Some upgrades are mutually exclusive. Does the shotgun have other upgrades on it?

Sawed off JS-2000 can't accept weapon mods. (IIRC, any mods installed pre-sawing will carry over; Just can't install new ones.)

If anyone else comes here looking for an answer, I figured it out after trial and error with the same problem. Put the sling, shot gun and screwdriver all in your main inventory. Then upgrade is finally an option. Of course this is only with the full length.
