hm, the thing is, then I'd expect to see the rest of town with a low population. I feel like that helicopter brought around 300 zeds to my base area. Killing them should have thinned out the rest of town, yea?
There are tens of thousands of them on the map under normal Zed Population settings, perhaps more. Hords on normal settings can reach 20+ and be in relative close proximity to each other. You've no idea how many zombies were outside town lured in by meta events.
I guess thats the question; how far are they being brought in from? The next town over? I'd think its just my immediate area, but what is "immediate?" 1000 tiles, 5000, 10,000 tiles away? The chopper does go for quite a bit, I could see it drawing them from aways away. but what about gunshots and screams?
The way the game works is that you are in a cell. A cell is 300x300 tiles. This is where zombies that are fully simulated are. The game simulates the 8 cells around this cell. This is where "virtual" zombies are, as in the game only handles their movement and hearing.
So the maximum area where zombies can come from should be 900x900 tiles.
ah, this makes sense, many thx)
