What is Parsec and would you recommend it

So I recently tried playing remote play with a friend who lives just across town where I live, I expected it to not be great, and it wasn't at all. His wifi isn't great but it shouldn't be that unplayable, I heard of the remote desktop app called "parsec," I have no clue how i'd even go about setting that up and how it would work with zomboid. Does anyone have any tips for improving performance in general and how I should set up Parsec with my friends? Thanks. P.S, I also tried playing with 4 people, it was way worse, and way funnier.
