OP: If you find the sandbox style of the game boring, there is mods with some quests like repairing radio stations to give you some goal(s), numerous sandbox options to tweak to increase challenge and you may not have played on the beta branch (Build 41) which is far newer than the main build at the moment.
But the premise of this game is similar to every other sandbox games where you need to make your own goals and the game won't guide or help you in any way so it's not for everyone.
Ultimately this is a sandbox survival game. If you're not the type to enjoy being dropped into a world worth exploring and setting your own goals, then perhaps you won't like this game.
In all honesty, I don't usually like those types of games either, but the constant need for food, shelter, etc. keeps me engaged. 400 hours in so far and still loving every moment!
I have yet to attempt a playthrough with sprinter zombies O_O
Try playing it with the "beta" Iwillbackupmysave by right clicking on it in your library. It's a lot more challenging and a lot of additional features, plus it looks nicer. This gets updated regularly. Given that this is still an early access game, I don't know why the "beta" is not default. They don't warn you that you're playing the wrong game by default when you buy it.
Yes.
