It is challenging, and you can allways fine tune in the way you want to play it.
I've just reached 1k hours all sp and I just can't stop. There's no end game boss or objective yet, but just surviving as long as possible is so much fun. If you're into zombies and real survival simulator I can't recommend this enough.
Yeah, i can definetly agree.
I am doing something like a one painful year challenge.
Currently i think i am at the twentieth day. Over 450 maybe 500 zeds killed. I already had my first copter event, nearly died to it as i had to get back to my base after sundown after doing a huge circle around.(no flashlight or any light source Cat's eyes was useful still, though could only see the outlines at best).
The constant hunt for food, the clearing of the neighborhood...I usually have a chance to loot one max two houses, and i can only hope it contains food. Funny thing i still have not found a frying pan, allthough i have everything to make good food with it, but i also dont want to waste individual ingredients. Luckily i managed to find a lot of oatmeals, beans, soup cans.
The deadliest thing is still returning home from a successfull raid, since often i pack him full. (Currently 2/1 str and endurance from 0/0). I nearly died to it, as i was not able to deal with 3 zombies. The guy was so overpacked i actually had to drop some stuff and just lose them in a house. (Though my fresh find new 100% coat is not without holes anymore. But luckily did not got scratched, bitten or lacerated...) Finally have a radio with SOS frequency so i can get ready for chopper too. But still planning ahead every day, to what to do after sundown....to have enough food enough weapons...enough water! :) (Funny thing my electricity is the highest of the non combat skills, though i need to work on carpentry so i can start to build floorboards and some defenses...and eventually stairs!)
