State of Decay obviously isn't as detailed but from what I can tell, it's about as close as you are going to get to a decent action game with decent zombie survival gameplay. If I remember right, it allows you to scavenge for supplies and barricade buildings, which is pretty much what makes a game true zombie survival imo.
Haven't played the game myself (don't have an xbone or a good pc) so apologies if this isn't accurate.
Thanks Vile (that sounds weird lol). State of Decay is good also, but far more arcade-y though. Ill wait for the finished article with this one, its great just something about the controls and zoom level, along with no rotate makes it feel too blunt to me !
Thanks for the reply though
You can disable the 7th day horde, still 7 days lacks some of the aspects zomboid has. And it's a first person game, unlike zomboid.
Whether you like the game or not, it is not unreasonable to think 8 years in "early access" is silly. If you do not have a better business/development plan than it taking 10 years to make a game, why did you bother making the game to begin with?
This is probably the last "perpetual EA" game I will ever buy.
Because for some small devs, this works without being sucked up by a big publisher? I can agree that there's plenty of EA scam games out there, but I wouldn't consider this one to be that. It's a fairly niche game, so it's not like they're racking in massive millions every month, especially if you consider how long they've been working on it.
They also make very noticeable progress. Is it slow compared to other games? Yes, maybe, but i'd argue it also has more depth and content than the majority of games.
EA is a good model, but it's easy to criticize it during.

As for why they bothered making the game to begin with, probably because this is the type of game they wanted to see exist.
