Where can I get a thread to sew up a wound?
I searched 2 pharmacies, found so many medicines that would be enough for me and my descendants for centuries, but there is no thread.

Hi azureWolf , there is a chance to get thread as well when you rip clothing up , not sure how big of a chance it is but i normally get all my thread that way , just rip all clothing you find since you will also need thread to do tailoring work .

Have you found any first aid kits? those are containers that can have thread and other first aid stuff.

Warehouses can have thread, so can clothing shops. And people's houses can too.

If you have the item "suture needle", which is rare but if you looted a whole pharmacy you should have found they are a one time use item but they do not need thread to use them. Most first aid kits will usually have one in them also so check the contents of any of those you found. You can also use a needle (the regular sewing kind) and thread. Thread is found in closet and garage shelving generally but can be found elsewhere, or as was previously stated by ripping clothing.

I didint know suture needle was a one time use , now normal needles are even more important , thanks for the info .

Normal needles never degrade or break so as long as you have one you are good. The suture needles will cause less pain when used and I believe heal faster, although if I remember right, been awhile since I used one, there is no indication of when the wound is healed and you can remove the stitches. Unless it has been changed recently the first aid skill gets really overpowered at higher levels and even deep wounds will heal pretty quickly with just bandages. This is generally only useful if you are playing with infection disabled because nothing will stop zombie infection.

Deep wounds will subjectively reduce your total health by 20% each. Sleeping will restore it, but once you awake, it will fall back to the correct level. Stitches will slowly restore that 20% from the wound, and once finished, can be removed to heal the deep wound. You will need to patch the remnant scratch after you remove the stitches. You can still apply a bandage over the stitches. Although it's not necessary to heal, it may prevent the stitches from coming undone (or something like that).

Deep wounds can take roughly a week to heal without stitching, provided that they are routinely cared for. Not sure if there is a difference of healing time for the different methods of stitching.
