Most calorie dense food you can make?
Hey everyone. One thing I constantly fight is the underweight trait because I mostly farm and I only eat when the hungry moodle comes up. So everyone once in a while I have to spend like an entire day constantly stuffing my face just to gain weight. What's the heaviest food I can make from a combination of farming, fishing/hunting, and gathering? Actually what's the best I can do in summer and the best I can do in winter?

I just eat only fish to gain weight and only berries when I want to lose weight.

Off topic a little, but I've always found overproduction of veg to tie in nicely with trapping. As mentioned, compost what you don't use, which will give a supply of worms for bird trapping.

Rabbit traps need to be on the ground, but since bird traps can go on your roof, safely out of reach from hungry zeds, then they are a great source of meat for little effort

Epitome of a someone who knows what they are doing. Trapping, for me unfortunately, yields nothing, because I absolutely suck at it. Farming and fishing are the most natural ways for me to gain any weight. Foraging only gets real results to sustenance if you're using Hydrocraft, through nuts. Otherwise it's a game of figuring where you are getting a calory filled meal, usually through the raiding of freezers or supermarkets.

Not renewable at all but a couple of bourbons before bed will shoot you calories right up.

Combining lots of different foods in a roaster/bowl with high cooking boosts the hunger/caloric value of the food alot, especially if you cook it.

But I personally just take obese every time I play because then I don't have to worry about food for like 2-3 months depending on how active my character is.

you lose 0.6KG of weight every day from just sitting on the floor in your base doing nothing and consuming no food, so obese sets you up for a long long time while only needing to satisfy your moodles with low caloric food.

If you have the ability to catch fish, that will be the easiest way to gain weight. You can even fish during winter if you get enough skill levels (dawn/dusk also gives a bonus which might push you over the threshold).

The formula for weight gain/loss is a bit complicated and also nonlinear: fats give a multiplier if you eat enough of them in a day.

rabbit and potato are the most efficient calories supply and longer preservation time, other is optional.

I hear good things about Pizza, but havent made one ever.

But it may be possible that it can have the most variety of additives of all. I think Stew is 6, Soup is 6, Roast is 6, but somethings like cake are only 4. Sandwich is small aswell. Smaller than expected, Maybe the Baguette is larger.

A 2x Fish Filet (from a sufficiently large fish), 2x Rabbit Meat, 2x Rodent Meat stew should end up somewhere close to 5,000 calories (and as a plus, still has the -15 Unhappiness from having three separate ingredients), and is made from all renewable ingredients. A 3x Fish Filet 3x Rabbit Meat would definitely break 5k while being happiness-neutral.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure a full pizza beats that (the few times I've found an intact pizza, it was 6k+) but without a way to get renewable cheese it's a no-go.

I'm no expert but I'd say probably a salmon, pike, rabbit, beef patty, ground beef, steak stew, seasoned with oil, butter, lard and margarine. If that's even possible.

I'm not the group cook though, whenever I cook stuff it's either salads, roasts or just eating straight from the can lol.
