Everyone is infected does that mean you start turning from beginning?
Everyone is infected does that mean you start turning from beginning?
If not, does a bite still make you turn?

I tried googling, but I couldn't find a clear answer.

Just means even if you die without being bit, your body will become a zombie. Thus once you start a new character, if you want to collect loot from your original dead body, you'll have to find and kill it to get your stuff again, instead of just looking for the corpse where you died.

Just like characters in TWD come back as zombies, whether bit or not.

The 'everyone is infected' setting means you'll turn no matter how you die! Bites/Scratches will make the infection set in faster, but they aren't what's infecting you.

You can set your game to where you dont actually die. But "cough" spoils the fun.
You can still die though just not through scratches or bites. Cotton balls and whiskey will prolong your life and with enough can actually cure you. It can take anywhere from 4 days plus depending on how you treat your player. Let your food, water go as low as you feel safe to. Change bandages when needed. if you have pain killers take one before you change the bandage.

Bites always make you infected, depending on settings you have about a week before you are ultra dead, however scratches, lacerations, and anything else a zombie inflicted, *can* still kill you via infection, but carry a much lower chance too, iirc, bites only carry 7% at base.

It's very unlikely if you are playing it safe, you will die from zombification, at least for a while (we all make mistakes), keep your eye out for sneaky ones, and stay safe!

I know what you mean, the last time I died was because I fell off a building.... A freaking building. lol

I'm amazed I didn't die but I had a moment of complete stupidity earlier.
I first broke a window without a weapon equipped so my guy just tore his arm apart by elbowing it open. Then I tried to clean the shards from the frame but because I didn't have a weapon I couldn't, instead I accidentally picked up the broken pieces on the other side (somehow). Then without checking the window I climbed through it and cut up my hands. Between that bout of stupidity and a zombie scratch earlier I'm glad I had enough sterile bandages to survive. I then got swarmed and eaten later in the day.

lol Wow! Every mistake you could have possibly made. Sounds like your character was all sliced up. Can blood attract zombies?

I don't believe they do. I got swarmed when I drove to another area, snuck into a house through the kitchen window a few blocks away and then about 6 zombies must have been having a house party as they just kept coming out of the bedroom one by one until they got me, I only had a stone axe I was using to chop trees.

From the sounds of it, it works like the double infection style of the walking dead. Everyone is infected with the dormant virus that activates on death, but you are still susceptible to the already active virus spread by a bite/scratch. thanks all for the answers here

In vanilla no blood does not attract zombies. There is a mod "scent of blood" that does allow them to be attracted to the smell of blood as well. I highly recommend using that mod it makes the game feel more accurate and unforgiving to small mistakes.
