How to exercise?
So, I've just recently reinstalled the game after quite a while. I played for almost two months in-game till I saw a gameplay where a guy keeps exercising. I searched it online and discovered it was an update. Well, I just can't exercise. Am I missing something here?

1) Find a secure area, preferably with a chair or bench.
2) If you have dumbbells or barbells, have them ready.
3) Drop all bags and carried items somewhere out of the way.
4) Open the 'health status' tab. You'll see a button marked 'fitness'. Press it.
5) Look through the list of exercises and decide what your direction will be.
6) Select an exercise based on your goals and perform it for ten minutes. Your character will unequip anything not required for the exercise. If you have 'minimal stat bars' or a similar mod installed you'll see your stamina dropping with each successful exercise.
7) You'll get tired AF. Find the bench or chair and rest. Otherwise, sit on the floor.
8) Continue with program exercises, resting in between each one to full energy and hydrating when needed. If you bothered to check your fitness or strength point totals before you started you should now see a point increase.

Example Program (the one I usually use for unfit characters that only need a little bit of strength training:
10m Squats
10m SIt-ups
10m Burpees
Repeat the above exercises one or two times, resting in between.
Run the beach or another long area you've cleared of zombies or that has little spawns.

On longer days this program will net many hundreds of skill points per day. Haven't bothered with it on normal days, but I've heard good things about it.

Thank you, mate. Managed to do it.

One note I forgot to mention: about twelve hours after you complete your exercise, you'll get 'muscular fatigue' listed as an injury to every body part you exercised to a magnitude based on how much you exercised and length based on your 'regularity' score (i.e. the more you do an exercise, the less the fatigue will hit you later). Each affliction will tell you how the fatigue affects you by mousing over or right clicking on the ailment. After a few hours this will go away, but it can keep you from sleeping and affect your exploring abilities. Best time to exercise in PZ imo is in the morning, and plan on being back right before the fatigue hits you.

Thank you very much for the details, my friend

I just started playing this game (after years) and can not seem to figure out how to exercise. I followed this guide and have watched several videos on youtube. IIRC, I chose Build 41 when I started this solo campaign but I can not find the exercise option, even following this guide. It is nowhere in my menus.

Any clues on what I am doing wrong?

Hello, friend. I had the same issue as yours and is pretty simple actually. When you are playing, you will notice a series of buttons on the superior left corner of your screen. One of them is a "heart" symbol. When you select this "heart symbol", you get an menu where is possible to exercise. You can choose the time and exercise type. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for your reply but that option is not there at all for me. I have the tabs for info, health, skills but when I look at the health tab (where i see this exercise option for everyone else) there is no option. My current playthrough is about a week or so in and I have leveled up some skills and wanted to work on something when I had free time ingame. That tab where the exercise is supposed to be is open almost all the time while i monitor my health or injuries. Idk, maybe i need to start a new game. Not sure if I can post a screenshot to show you.

If you dont have the Exercises button in Health tab, then you are probably not in Build 41
Easy to check... in main menu, bottom right, you have the game version
Should be 41.53

I'm wondering if you are right. I swear I chose the BUILD 41 option when I started the game.

Here is a screenshot:

Ahh... I checked and it says 40.43 (steam).

Well... that is probably the issue. Thanks guys! I see 41 is a beta opt-in.

Time to start a whole new game, d'oh! lol

Also, not related, but...
The generator you put inside your house is killing you...
They should be put outside

Thanks but it was just placed on the ground not operating. Thought it was safer sitting there than outside. I'm still re-learning this game, haven't played in years.
