New character, new journal. Consuming time. Then I died.
All those role play diaries.
These days, when I find a writing tool and some sort of paper, I use it for making a list of skill books by type and level: have/needed/finished. That takes a lot of time to format every time I start a new character, but once I have it I can reference the notes I made when I discover a book and know if I need to grab it.
Actually now I am typing this, I think I will make a note in my phone app with check boxes for each book. Faster than remaking a new in game notebook list every time I die or start a new character. New character? Just uncheck the books I had on the last character save and start again without having to retype my format for books needed.
I think the story or diary journals will work well for multiplayer games when that gets released. (I only played the IWBUMS 41, so I have never played multiplayer zomboid, the current stable build didn't/doesn't interest me in the slightest. This new 41 stuff, yes indeed, good stuff)
I'd love to see some written journals in the dresser drawers. Maybe some of the more creative writers could make a mod that randomly fills Blank Journal
