How to kill Horde

I don't know where I wandered off to, but there are a lot of zombies. I have a gun and a shotgun, how do I kill the horde

Certainly not with guns. All you're gonna do is call more and more to you.

For the most part engaging with any kind of massive number of zombies is a bad plan. If you absolutely have to, then fire is usually the most efficient. But if all else fails, good ol' vehicular homicide is a classic.

Just make sure you're in a decent car. You don't wanna stall half way through the rampage.

Unless you use more destructive or risky stuff (fire, cars), it will take time, no matter what. It will take less time and less risk if you manage to attract them one by one, or a few of them. If you start getting chased by 10 of them you'll have to run away, waste time until you manage to split the group, you character will get exhausted and you'll have to rest, etc.

As you sneakily get closer to the horde, once one (or a few) of them start following you, backtrack to make sure there won't be more following you because they see you/you start attacking one of them.

Spears or knives work really well if they are a few meters behind each other so you can easily get some one-shot kills. 1-handed blunt weapons are versatile and do a good job if you have some point in that skill.

Use those guns to lure them elsewhere. It's all they're good for unless you want to go out in a blaze of glory.

I'd go behind a tree line. Shoot off the shotgun a few times (loudest guns in the game,) and then run back around the trees out of sight. The cover should hopefully obscure you enough that you're never seen. Leaving the town or whatever mostly empty.
This is a terrible strategy for preserving the area though. They'll smash through everything on their way to the sound.

If you want to keep items of zombie.Slowly one by one like people said.If you don't care about zed item and you just want to clear the horde.Fire!!.Lure them all into a fire and watch it spread amount the evil :P

Personally, when it comes to hordes, I try and lure 2 or 3 from the group at a time, kill with melee (axe is my preference), rinse and repeat.

Run a short distance and fire a shot or two, then circle back to the location you started.

If you don't know where you are/ where is kinda safe don't be using a gun. I've started using guns to clear my way into town now I know one side is pretty much clear and I'm to an extent mopping up.

I'd try making remote pipe bombs and placing them around a car alarm.

With knives and patience. I can clear +20 zombies in one go as that is the only weapon that allows you to constantly hit while backpedaling, without slowing you down.

Monitor your moodlets and try to chip it away separating the horde into smaller groups.

Go back to rest/sleep as necessary.

If you're using Brita's weapon pack like most players, just grabbing a high capacity shotgun + silencer with a ton of ammo you'll eat through a horde.

For me that counts as cheating. I would hardly say that most players use that mod.
