Gun case?

So I found a gun case, but I can't open it. What exactly is it for?

You sometimes find guns in them. Otherwise they're just another form of container in the event you can't find anything better like a backpack or whatever.

Equip it in your main or off hand, and open you inventory, you can now look inside it. Usually it has a handgun and some ammo.

Another option is to drop it on the ground and you can grab what is inside from there.

It is a hardcore survival game first, if you didn't have anything it could pass as makeshift container for you as well. Everything counts in this game.

If you put your curser over it, it will show you what's in it.

Been dropping them on the floor to open them but will have to try this method.

Ah, I see. I've been trying to open it previously like I would with box of nails or bullets.
