Not possible to add sheet rope on self built windows?

built a lvl 2 window on second floor, but not getting option to attach sheet rope, is it intended on 41? I do have nail and hammer in inventory.

Hmmm, the only idea I have is perhaps you need a wooden window itself to attach the rope to, and the wall with the window cutout by itself isn't enough. Try to grab one from any nearby house and place into your windowed wall and see if it will work.

Stupid questions but 1) do you have a sheet rope in your inventory and 2) is the window open

It should work. Are you using any mods?

If not do you have one rope for each floor? You will need 2 for the second floor.

I think this might be why then, as i havent actually placed any window in it, atm its just a wall with a square hole basically. just need to find a new crowbar since my house burnt down cuz my stupid ass forgot to turn off the oven.

Do have some mods yea, but theyre all quite popular ones i think so other people should have the problem as well in that case and dont think any of the mods involves changes with windows or sheet ropes.

yea, the hammer you spawn with. imma head to bed and tomorrow ill try installing an actual window into the lvl 2 window wall and see if thats the problem

Actually it is most likely a mod that prohibits you.

Agreed. Start by disabling all mods to see if it works. If it does then you know it's a mod. Re-enable each mod one at a time (testing each before enabling the next) to find the problem mod.

IF it still doesn't work after uninstalling all mods then you would need to file a bug report.

for some reason it worked just fine when i opened the game back up, i guess all that was needed was a restart.

FYI: For future reference the first thing that you should do before asking for tech support is to make sure that you've restarted the computer at least once. No one here asked because I think we all assumed that you had but if you were to call tech support for pretty much anything they would ask you first thing so it's usually best just to do it first. Besides that, it usually fixes at least half of the problems that people experience.

This is not meant to berate you, just a friendly reminder for you or others that it may help.

ofc, but didnt restart the computer, just the game, the game was only running for about one hour when that problem occurred so didnt think it would be long enough for such an error to occur that would be solved with a restart, which was why i suspected there was a step i was missing in adding ropes to player made windows
