Project Zomboid

finding old characters zombified body
so i died in a pretty stupid way.. cleared a building to use as a temporary base for looting the nearby warehouses. one day i return and just sprint inside assuming the building is still clear but a horde had broken in for some reason and i got cornered. made a new character on the same map and made my way back to where i died. the dead one has my keyring and a few notes and a map on which i marked many interesting locations and stashes and i'd really like those back at least

but when i returned, the building is empty again and i've been combing the area for 2 days now. how far can they wander in 16-ish in game hours?

No clue, but i saw one zombie move north twice within an ingame 10 minutes, each time moving like 4-6 tiles.

But if your guy was with a group, he may have moved continuesly, in which case, bad luck. He could walk at least a screen size of tiles within in game 10 minutes...:( Especially if any kind of an event occured, like gunshot, helicpter, alarm, alarm clock, survivor scream and so on.

Some times I leave the death screen up and let my dead self wander around with his no-good hoodlum "friends". Depending on how they migrate and clump up, they can amble pretty far. The more recent updates have made zombie clusters way more dynamic.

Hey I had a zombified character in one game who died at a Giga mart but when I return to search for her she gone. She turns up 2 days later at the gas station leaving West Point in the middle of the night when I am shotgunning the local hoards was so busy I couldn’t stop to loot her as I wanted so just left her. It’s good idea to wear Mohawk spike or fan as you can spot your old character in a crowd much easier. Some times if you are dark skin tone the zombie won’t look like your character anymore

Alot of the time I using grey hair Mohawk

I think player zom is likely to get picked up by a migration squad on the hire. I think player zom might have a higher zombie rank and gets protected and moved

After a chain of games I respawned in a game and had one of my old player zoms spawn Jump me once.

Best to delete the old you, and start again... least that way you have fresh spoils to nick.. later on when your bored then play with some settings and old plays for variation, be a while but hey its a option.

I've run across "zombie me" months after dying, more than a mile away from where I died so I am certain that the dead you is faithfully persistent and must be out there somewhere.
