I think Zombie Distribution is a bit bad.
now one thing that i complain about with this game is the same as many, there too many zombies, and on sandbox when you put a low ammount of zombies it becomes a bit boring cause theres barely any real ammount of treath really, at least now that i have gotten a bit better at the game, but im still not a master.

i will add i play with NPC (a mod since this build doesnt have NPCs) and yes they indeed can sometimes ruin a perfect herd of zombies that im keeping in line, but that still doesnt take away from what i actually am realising is the broken part of this game.

The Zombie distribution in towns is terrible, theres two ways to distribute zombies, "Urban Focused" and "Uniform" now Uniform actually seems the best option as it makes it so that towns have at least areas where you can walk by and such, however there will be times where im out in the middle of nowhere, and im thinking its time to try and build a base, and suddenly a wild hord of zombies apears, it is true zombies are quite annoying, and easy to deal with, however i simply still dont have the skill that i could have if i played this game more motivated and for long hours (even though i play for long hours already, im just a noob)

anyway, at the end of the day although Uniform is a better choice to have some free parts of towns empty, i still feel Urban Focused, is the way to go, as it makes sense that most zombies would be around towns, however this brings a problem, and hence why i think the zombie distribution is bad in this game.

lets imagine a scenario to try and explain my view, (NPCs included)
you play a simple survival game, no customisation, nothing, you choose like 4 simple traits and some disabilities to make your character, nothing too crazy.

then the game starts and you spawn in the suburbs "okay good place to spawn" you go around and search for food, and medicine first, a weapon if possible, you find some adhesive bandages, and 2 cans (can opener included).

suddenly a hit on the window, you havent checked for weapons so you grab a broom and break it to make it a spear, then run upstairs to quickly check the bathroom and bathrooms for more medicine and a bag hopefully, but you hear the window broke, you search around but havent found anything.

after you finished searching you hear like theres lots of zombies downstairs, and as you walk down the stairs you realise the zombies that broke the windows, attracted a lot of zombies, even with all the shooting and chaos around they still got mainly attracted by the windows breaking and theres probably about 15 zombies inside the house and around it.

you go upstairs realising jumping out a window is the only option and you do that, however you break your leg and theres more zombies around you, and suddenly you died.

this could easily, simply be bad luck, however when this same scenario happens, in similar ways, for 8 games straight there starts to be a pattern.

in my opinion Urban Focus means "yes, there should be lots of zombies in towns" however i dont mean make like 20 to 40 zombies be on my ass right out the gate, specialy when im on an area that supposedly would have a very manageable amount of zombies, the suburbs sound to me like it would be the area with least zombies in town, wile the center of town with all the stores filled with goodies IS the area filled to the top with zombies, and would make sense that after some days the zombies move on and leave some parts of the town center open for you to go and look.

but anyway, you see my point of view here? how can someone enjoy a game that has so much potential when the game wont even let you start?, yes i can easily see the devs put lots of work and dedication on making this game as realistic as possible showing how a "real life" zombie apocalypse could turn out, however there still needs to be some moderation on certain features, here it being how many zombies are on certain areas, and where does your character spawn, when can he rest, when is he forced to run and fight, and when is he doomed to die.

cause in my opinion, you cant say that a game that makes you die on the very first 5 minutes, more than 5 times in a row is correctly made, i can easily understand saying "well youre just bad" and "just change the settings on sandbox" but thats not the point, cause yes i could do that, but after a wile ill get bored, at least in my opinion, i have already gotten bored of playing with little amount of zombies, so after doing some tries and testing and even at one point resorting to cheating wich i dislike, i realised, the Zombie Distribution in this game is simply not tweaked correctly.

i dont know how anyone else thinks, im sure theres lots out there that still believe the game is good and that i shouldnt complain about it, but if one dies really quickly in a game, more than 5 times, how cant you maybe suspect that there might be something bad with the games feature?

Here's the sandbox settings explained in more detail.

It takes a little time and experience to understand how everything plays out, but this should help you to shape the world you want.

My problem is that i lowered the population multiplier because i thought there was way too many zombies in the town. but then when i go and loot a farm or something there is literally not a single zombie. so it seems like i cant get it just how i want it :) I will try next time with "Uniform" zombie spwaning

kinda hard to do consistenty when theres a million crowds with zombies looking in all directions and I dont have high stealth ontop of them roaming and coming to bang on windows even through they may or may not have seen me

iv only had more luck with more of the outskirts places but going in the actual town is a nightmare

Theres no such thing like good distribution. Zombies move around: they follow noises, survivor, and meta events. Use alarm to distract the zombies away
