I would recommend sandbox with alarms turned off until you get an idea of what to do. Alarms are pretty much a death sentence on the first day if you don't know what you're doing or are just unlucky.
I do find game very addictive / learning curve but i also dont want my char the die with skills ive gained / learned but yeah thats the risk to keep it intressting.
Hopefully Ed Wreck is gone last me a while but im gone need get water sorted out because stealing the taps empty and shaking water supply units. Its gone end 1 day with empty.
I do find 1 thing annoying there not a lot of lakes or river streams to fish in on the inland so im currently looking where i wane make permanent base. once i get my carpentry a bit more up.
But yes first few days can be tough when you barely got anything also getting a car with a key can take a while. (i finaly got hotwiring possibility)
+ it also helps to have a few buildings in areas where you can sleep safely or more safer.
Also parking youre car with youre char closes to a wall or anything helps against zeds.
they can damage the car but barely hit you i think if you sleep inside of it with a wall keeping the door shut closed =) (but do clean the area a bit you wane be a bit safer hehe)
1 month 15 days 14 ours 327 zombies killed (builder mode) Ed Wreck how long he lasted not bad for my 4th run i geusse.
But yes the game is addictive and can eat up tons of time i just wish there was a bit more content atleast we got enough mods to fool around with.
right now my char is alive for over 2 months. did came close to dieing a few times but luck saved me. i have a great base in the fire department near the prison. a few cars and a trailer.
and right now im just preparing for winter. hope i will make it.
yeah this game is very addictive
My last char is 3 days in, top weapon is bare handed, I am having a blast... dying or no its still fun.
Well once you master the things try the one year challenge. Be warned if you find apocalypse hard, this is insanely so.(I escaped multiple times only by running through the oncoming horde, where it was thinnest:P tackle run...still gives me the creeps.)
If all goes well i will be able to get my first car tomorrow. Not a very good car, about 43% or so. But i found it near the car shop, so i can replace the accumlator that I found near the gas station, and also fill it up with gas. Also will be taking all the spare parts i can get from the repair shop. (Then i will try to get another car from the supermaker parking lot, seems there are a lot of cars there, i still have 4 available gas cans and 2 normal and one sport accumlator fully charged. Cuz in 6 months later most cars have 0 % charge, and 0 in fuel:) )
For looting and chopping trees = making planks also once loaded up you can drop them from the truck near a building area.
think gone do a new try today 5th char try
Careful. They are loud. So they can grab zed attention.
Live on the edge or die anyway =)
I need to say the moving truck i found was kinda okay with sound but the 1 for heavy loads (like rubble) i wouldnt take that one to a city XD backing up makes very loud BEEPING sound maybe good to get a whole hoard collected together XD.
I did park that 1 away for spare parts but never got to it.
Anyways i geusse you should drive a truck somewhere maybe yell a bit to see if there zeds or not then park it and start chopping =)
But yeah the moving truck gave me roughly 540 inventory to use so you can fairly collect a lot of planks with such a truck.
each plank = 3 weight so yeah such a truck could carry 180 planks just in the back. (then eh passenger side and the glove box the calculator tells me 9 planks but thats wrong. (glovebox fits 2 planks maxium) and the seat fits 6.
So if you only wanted to move some planks you could fit 188 in such a van i found =)
