Building a log wall
Fences have limited protection, read "no protection at all" :) Fine... a log fence it is.

4 logs... Only one fits in my inventory. I have to carry each log from A to B. This is tedious enough, but... things can always be worse. Whenever I walk up to my wall to be, it cuts away because of how the view works; can't see anything unless I walk back a few tiles until it pops back into view... then I have to memorize the exact spot, walk to it and place the part.
All in all this took me way too long. Cumbersome and boring.

So maybe I'm doing it wrong? Is there a better way to transport those logs? A wheelbarrow maybe?
And, most importantly: Is there a way to toggle walls on/off so I can see where I place the parts?

Why not use a simple bag? Or you could use a rope.

Hmm... the game wouldn't let me put a log in a bag. I thought this was meant to be and never tried again.

Sometimes the game us unresponsive when I drag things into my inventory. Doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. I will try again.

Now for the view toggle...

You can definitly put logs into bags
With a rope, you can pack logs to make them weight far less for transportation too
Still, very cumbersome...
...which is why i never make log walls and always go for wood walls

As for the view...I dont make log walls, so perhaps it is really bad with these...

But...
Normally, for the most part, it works
There are places ingame where it doesnt work as well
Isometric has its shortcomings...
I dont think there is a toggle...worth checking Options anyway

I must be in a place where it doesn't really work well then :( My wall shows from about 5 tiles away and vanishes as soon as I get closer.

So, decide where you want your log wall. Drop the logs one at a time on the ground there, then place your build and build it in one go.

I get that part. I don't know why, but I was convinced logs could't be put in a bag.

Now It's only the cut away that is bothering me. I looked into the settings, but afik there's no toggle. Now it might work better in other places. Up till now I have been a wanderer. Just started building a "real" base for the first time and this is what I run into.

Uhm hijacking this, but apparently in my save ropes get deleted when I unstack logs. Latest beta build, vanilla. Is this a known issue or is it my save thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥ somehow?

Edit: Nevermind... Im a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot I used them to craft the wall, instead the rags.. ♥♥♥♥
