Tip to find Generator manual/magazine?
After surviving 2 months things started getting desperate. I need my generator working but I have no way to activate it. Plus Generator magazine is no where to be found. Tips to find it?

Garages, mailboxes, electronic stores. Lucky trait does seem to help in future campaigns from my experience. Otherwise collect everything you can disassemble and when you find the proper skillbooks read them and deconstruct if things are taking so long that you need to brute force it.

You can use the map tool to find the stores if you want.

Does Leveling my electrical helps with starting the generator for the 1st time?

Might be wrong on that not completely sure. The electrical job should give you the ability use them if you want to start with it in the future.

Ahah, good luck with this F......g book

Took me 10 weeks to find one...i was totally mad at it
There was none at all in my city, not a single one...lol...looted every single place
Found it in a mailbox from a random farm
In previous builds, it was no problem to find a few per week not even looking for it

And nope, electrical skill doesnt help, no matter the level
You cant connect the generator without the book or starting Electrician

If you want to start with the ability to use generators always, pick "Electrician" occupation. If you also pick lucky trait you are basically guaranteed to get the book in starting town somewhere.

Self storage places always seem to have at least 1, with the Lucky trait you can find like 3 of them in a single place too. Then I feel like the wealthier houses with garages (seems to be more for the ones separate from the main house, not attached) will sometimes contain them too, and those houses have a good chance of getting the book in a mailbox or just somewhere inside too.

Country Club near Riverside is good for it, there's like 10 wealthy houses there to plunder for books and magazines, not to mention their mailboxes, plus there's a self storage place just around the corner where you've got a good chance of finding a generator too.

i find at least one is school and at least one in book store on standard loot settings + couple in asorted spots like mailbox or garage so you have to be tremendusly unlucky to not find a single one in whole town

School? Seriously? That sounds like suicide

I'd recommend lucky over electrician if anyone it tied down for points. Lucky applies to so much more than electrician or even most traits. It's one of the best ones in my opinion.

As for the schools you could always use a planned alarm to lure then away from the school if you so desire or a gun. Just have a good exit plan and don't be exhausted and tired.

Oh I agree. Lucky trait is a very good trait.

Always use lucky trait.

Ive been through the book stores of 3 towns as well as the post office in west point and I haven't got one. Found like 7 generators in 1 storage place tho lol

There really ought to be a significant chance to find one in ANY house that already has a generator in it. Gennie owners would have to have read the damn booklet to use the thing. The thing that annoys me most is that I have easily found two dozen homes equipped with generators and none of them has it. Local school library? Nope. Bookstore? Nope. In fact nowhere in all of Rosewood have I found one. Now I am wasting days (and fuel) searching remote farms and outbuildings ... many of which have generators, but apparently they never used them because they couldn't find the book either. It's a good game, but this? This is dumb.
