Screen flickering
I have some bad screen flickering a couple of minutes into the game. It goes in and out of flickering. I have an intergrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 card and I've made sure I'm not forcing any options on the game in the Intel graphics options and I've also disabled the steam overlay. I run it on minimal settings, texture compression and such. I've also tried borderless. What can I do?

Make sure to update your graphics drivers as well + disable any overlays that you might have (Discord overlay created a few problems for me)
Another thing that comes to mind is having Vsync disabled if you dont already have done that, you can also try disabling the UI Offscreen Rendering as that could cause some issues.

I tried everything and nothing worked. Appreciate the reply however. Any other pointers anybody might have?

I found out I have Intel HD Graphics 3000, not 4000 also.

Hmm, are you using any mods?
JoelM Apr 15, 2019 @ 11:29am
Yes, I use all the mods for New Dawn Roleplay. I however managed to fix the screen flickering, lowering all the way down to 800x600 res, turning lighting level to lowest (I thought low was the lowest) and turning off roof hiding. When I put lighting level back to low it started flickering, so I believe it had something to do with that. Maybe my computer just couldn't handle a higher level or it was some FPS issue.

However, I got a crash issue now. I keep crashing every ten minutes or so. Hella strange.

You can go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid
Open the console.txt
Copy everything from there to https://pastebin.com/
Share the link to the pastebin here.

Do this after the game crashes and we can try looking at the error why it crashes.

Here you go https://pastebin.com/CDKWAVUM. This time I crashed for alt tabbing out of the game.

Hm, there doesnt seem to be anything in the console indicating a crash. You can go to your Project Zomboid folder
"steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid"
There should be a file called "hs_err_pid", choose the latest one created and share it the same way, it should contain more information if the console doesnt have any info.

What I assume would be the game running out of memory (depending on how much RAM you have) or some weird graphic error because of the older graphics card model. If those are the cases then there isnt much that I can do that comes to mind. Other than trying to lower some settings to decrease the strain on the computer.

Yeah, I downloaded and installed this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit and I didn't get any error messages.

Where do I disable shaders?
JoelM Apr 16, 2019 @ 10:04am
Nope didn't work, but this is strange, it worked perfectly fine except the flickering, now that the flickering is gone it's crashing every ten to fifteen minutes. It's almost as if putting my settings down is causing the crashing.

I'll just delete them, let's wait for the next person with the exact same issue to find no answers.
