When military and even police wear guns they are strapped to their front so they can use them or use a hand gun easily. so its not unheard of XD but i think just adding weight is better than slowing you down
If anything it would make the game better
I mean, I like tactical/gun stuff too, the only other game I really play is Tarkov, and I propably like it way more than the devs appear to, but fortunately there's a ton of mods out there that cover that ground :)
Having said that, I have had people request that I include that feature in some of my weapon hotbar mods, but I've always declined because I feel, personally, that it would interfere with the hardcore, hard mode gameplay that I personally prefer?
You can already do this by having the shotgun on your back and having the bat in your hands.
For most interactions you use the bat in your hands; for emergencies you press 1 to whip out the boomstick. When the emergency is over, right click on the bat and equip in hands.
Why not have it optional? i mean that's the point of mods, people can play a game with the experience they want.
I get that some want hardcore. Others like me prefer realism, and others like an easy cheat playthrough, everyone has their own styles. A good game needs to have the option for everyone.
Right now this game feels like its going the path of realism in a fictional scenario so, an addition of something like this would just add to it. people can chose to not wear the sling if they don't like it. that's my opinion
