Black map / fog after loading
Just started the game. Running lates 41 build.
When walking through the map it gets uncovered and after reloading everything is black again as if I haven't been there.
Is this normal behavior?

If you're talking about the vision cone thing when loading into the game, yes it is.

It is not 'fog of war', it is your visual cone. No looking through walls like superman.

I believe what they meant is when they load in to the game for a new play session. The map that is not immediately in your vision is blackened. Where when they left off, it was only greyed out because they have seen it previously.

which is completely normal behavior for the vision mechanic of the game.

I see. So a complaint about what takes a second to view again. But yes, that is normal behavior since you cannot 'see' that area behind you and must re-view it notice anything in that area. The gray area is 'memory' viewing, and on loading a game there is not memory saved, so it is black.

No, what I mean is, initially everything you can't see is black (e.g. outside your starting house). If you go outside than that area gets revealed. If you than go inside again, the outside is still visible but greyed out so you can't see what is happening but you can see what is there.
If I then exit and load the game everything that was "discovered" by me is again completely black again. (I am currently not quite sure if this also happens after sleeping.)

That is exactly what @Arikima and I responded to, the 'memory views' or 'fog of war' of an area. That is not saved with the save game.

All you have is what you currently 'see' when loading a game. And it does not matter that you can't see it, or it is now black, because even if zombies showed up in the 'gray area', you would not know they were there until you can 'view' the area again.

Alright, thanks.
Its just a bit annoying because it helps to know where I already been and what the neigborhood looks like.

Well, yeah, but that makes games easy. This way, it is up to you to remember where you have been rather than the game keeping track of it for you.

what help is to set a kind of signal where you have been ... stuff like let doors open from houses you were or lay a zed infront of the doors in case you want to close em and probably using the door / house as safety for an emergency escape or stuff like this. Since nothing on he ground disappear your possibillities to mark where you have been are huge. I heard o f someone he is marking houses he looted with socks. So just get creative :D
