Build useless stuff, dismantle it, rebuild it, ad nauseam.

Or try to build something that can be of use, a fence for your traps, a shack for your garden, an outhouse for RP. In the end, it's still just grind, but it is less of a chore when you do it with a purpose.

Looking for the book may still be useful time-wise.

Yeah im not gonna start farming my carpentry skill until i got that book. I would take way too long. I appreciate the help. Also, if i put a cooking pot in the microwave will it catch fire? Im not sure if real life logic applies here.

You don't need to build anything to level up carpentry.

Best thing to do is make raids on book stores, or post offices. They have plenty of books. Otherwise it will be a long time leveling so finding the book is usually worth it.

Otherwise, chopping trees down, and then using a saw to cut the logs into boards will level you up. Your going to need a lot of boards anyway.

The bookshop in Muldraugh is right here:

It is conveniently on the main road. If you need to figure out how to get there from in town, you can zoom out, and use the mouse to drag around this map to figure out where your base is.

As for leveling carpentry. Read the book required, and then just go dismantle stuff. Bigger things like 2(or more) tile objects tend to give a bit more XP.

Be careful though usually that place is a high density area.
Also since you are in Muldraugh, once you get the book read, go to the Mccoy's logging camp. It has a LOT of crates. Empty them and dismantle them. Each crate gives on your level at least 20 or maybe 30 xp. It is a bit boring but efficient way to increase carpentry, while also getting a lot of planks and nails.

I was dismantling long fences and wooden boxes inside of warehouses, leveled up carpentry pretty fast that way, finding books speed up things ofcourse.
