generator question

I have not been lucky enough to find a generator magazine in all of riverside. Is there an electrical level I can get to to use generators? or do I need the magazine no matter what?

No clue...I allways found a magazine before even reaching level 2 in electrical.
Riverside has a bookshop, a school and a hm editor? or printing press? these are full with books and magazines. Also among all the houses in Riverside at least 2 should have the magazine.
I would go for the school though, usually it is safer than the bookstore or the editorial place.
(Unless you lead away the zeds with helicopter before. I usually enter the bookstore with a sledgehammer from behind:D)
The schools library is on the first floor though.

I mean, you could drink bleach and reroll with the perk that allows you to operate a generator if you can't find the mag

Sheds sometimes have them , storages if your lucky , hardware store i seen it once , any garage or tech facility can have one.. you gotto be lucky i guess

And sorry i meant the other school.:) At the northeastern part of town there is another school as well. Or something like a private academy? It has a huge kitchen a lot of food. Is just north from the rich grated neighbourhood. On the first floor of it there are also books there. (Also in the lockers you can usually find a big hiking bag.)

Gas stations can also have the magazine.

edit: just tested this in debug, you can't use generators unless you take the Electrician occupation or read the magazine. Levelling up electrical skill does nothing.

If you get your electrical up to level 3 you can operate them without the magazine. very handy for players with the illiterate debuff

Hah was not sure, about the level 3, since i allways found it, but makes sense since the electrician starts with 3 electrical.

Did you miss the part where I said that's not possible? It never unlocks your ability to connect the generator if you don't have the knowledge, which is magazine or occupation. Simply reaching level 3 did nothing when I tested it.

That might've been true in a previous build, but it doesn't seem to be now. Or it could be bugged, that's always possible.
