Is a generator running on full time for a Freezer worth it?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2615225444

So i just topped up all these gas cans from my gen, and it used less than 1% of fuel. I wonder if its worth taking it to the shop and running a fridge full time with it? Or bringing my freezer over here. Currently my freezer is only used to store worms i gather from farming for later fishing escapade. I cant say i have a great deal of freezable goods right now. More canned food if anything, fresh raddishes which i actually nearly eaten them all, 3 jars of pickled raddish. hmmm

Do you think its necessary? No VHS tapes of any worth atm, so a tv video player combo not quite worth it. IF its just going to deplete my gas for no reason is a gen running full time ever really a requirement?

It is totally worth it...provided you are using the fridges and freezers to store perishable food
A few electrical items dont use that much generator gas

Now, to store non perishable food and insects / worms... it is useless
Normal containers or ground can do the job just fine...and dont need any generator or fuel

Question will you attempt to sleep in the location your generator is running?

Of course
I use 1 generator full time for base...where i sleep too (generator OUTSIDE ;D)
Other generators for gas station(s)...running only when i need to refuel

Now, i tend to have a "base playstyle", with one mostly permanent base where im very often
It means my base and surrounding are clear of zombies too, at least after the first few days...
So, i dont really care about generator noise...and i put it on elevated floor if possible...

The rare times i play 'nomadic style', i play nomadic...no base, so, no base generator...

I guess for a 'semi nomadic playstyle', with a base you arent visiting often, still with zombies around, generator noise could be a problem...
Not a playstyle im used to...

I just put a microwave by my gas station going to leave the generator there and use it only when i need it. I dont live indoors yet so i don't need lights though it is now november and temperature is dropping to the point i had to wear extra clothes.

Trick to the latter is to place the generator on preferable the northeastern or mid eastern corner. So that way you will have the south and west side as available entry and exit points. Since they usually gather around or under the generator if there are zeds around.

For the OP, you can have a generator run for 6-7 days without a need to refill, allthough it requires power management. (Aka check what is under current, and decide if you need it or not, you can also reposition the generator to get them out of the current. Take into consideration if there are street lights in generator range they will consume only during the NIGHT! Also for some reason radios in generator range will consume both increase the gennies power and the battery! so usually it is better idea to keep it somewhere else out of range.)
