I might one day. But for now it's all random. I get weak slow ones all the way up to super human sprinters and all points in between. Day and night, lol.

Is that a new option or did I completely overlook that in sandbox? I could have sworn you could only change how active they were before - making them stand still and not do much at night / day, and then having them begin roaming when either day / night comes.

I would absolutely love to play with zombies docile during the day but at night turn into sprinters. Or have zombies on the lowest detection and physical settings during dusk and dawn, normal settings during the day and maximised at night. That'd be fun too. The more combination options the devs add to the sandbox the better this game becomes, in my opinion. It adds replayability and also accommodates everyones individual niche.

Wish you could do fast shamblers during day and sprinters at night. The last time I tried could only have the really slow zombies during tje day when setting to active at night

In Zombie Lore, there is a setting called Day/Night Active, for example if you have set your zed speed to Sprinters and set them to be active during Night you will have regular Shamblers during day and Sprinters during the night.

I tried slow at night, fast in the day, since that would offer a trade-off to make. You're already incentivized to be active during the day because of the TV broadcasts and inability to see in the dark. It was pretty cool for a while, but it seemed to weird, that when they were close beside you, they have fast grabs and lunges, compared to how very, very slowly they move otherwise. (Like a turtle for moving, rabbit for lunges. : )

this doesnt work for me actually, the mfs sprint full speed during the day despite that being the inactivity

Are you sure you've set the setting to NIGHT? Also 7am starts are bad because the timeframe for night activity is set to 9pm - 8am iirc so you would be starting with active zeds instead of inactive ones.

Honestly, I've been very excited about doing a playthrough in sandbox that is the opposite:

During the night, zombies are shamblers, but during the DAY they are sprinters and run like hell.

Would make for a pretty fun playthrough, as I would have to scavenge at night and stay indoors/sleep during the day. Add the night being pitch black and flashlights would be a must, which would add a whole new system to the game, with flashlights and batteries now being key to survival, just as much as any other resource (instead of being just a mere convenience).

However, I still couldn't bring myself to do it. It would be kinda stressful for the first few weeks of the game, when I still don't have many strategies that are proven to work against the sprinter zombies during the day, (as for one reason or another, ♥♥♥♥ might hit the fan when the sun is out), so I'm currently building the courage to do the playthrough.

I tried this once, but they were WAY too slow in the day time. It was like their bodies were covered in the world's strongest super glue that was only seconds away from completely drying. It would be cool if they were normal or fast shamblers during the day and runners at night, but as it is, they were just too painfully slow during the day. I guess turning the spawning up to "Insane" would help balance it out if your PC can handle it.
