Build 41.42 Glitches?
Hello,

Is anyone else experiencing problems playing the game with previous or new games? For some reason, I can no longer open doors or turn on lights. My brother also plays, and he's told me that the barricade option for windows and doors is gone. Trying to right click on items to activate them results in an Error message, but a second attempt seems to work.

I understand the pop-up at the main menu says certain features have been temporarily disabled, but this is ridiculous!

Is he able to deconstruct things? I noticed this too, it now requires a ball and peen hammer or a stone hammer for some reason.

Yes, I just started a new game. I can click to open the menu option to open door then open it, but can't just open it with a click like yesterday. This annoyed me so much I didn't test anything else.

Yeah, the new patch seems to have quite a lot of problems. yesterday, I had only 5 error message notes (the red box thingy) when starting the game, now I get over 700 every time I do anything (carried a corpse, tried to disassemble a bed)
Took a look in the error logs, and most messages look like most item/action tables got glitched. hope that this will be fixed soon.

When you guys get error messages, we need those errors.

Go to C:\Users\Yourusername\Zomboid and copypaste the console.txt content to a site like pastebin.com, then link it here so we can take a look at it.
Initial bets are usually on mods.

Ok, I really should have checked first, I just launched a new game with only NecroForge enabled, and it seems to work as usual, can disassamble furniture as usual. Now to the fun part, which will probably kill the save again: which mod is the culprit?

When I started my actual run, I cleaned up all my mods, removed lots that were not IWBUMS compatible, also some that I don't use anymore. If I can find the mod causing havoc, I'll let you and the dev of the mod know.

If you can figure it out from only the log, your effort would be greatly appreciated.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2149145981 is the culprit, the mod dev already knows. fortunately, this won't break a savegame if removed.

Unfortunatly, doors still only can be operated by hotkey, not by click, but that's not as bad.

Yes, does seem to be some problems after the recent 41.42 patch. I was having problems with setting and baiting traps. This morning I logged into my game, harvested some cabbage and was going to preserve (can) it but all my sugar is missing from the kitchen cabinet. I'm sure this will all get worked out as it always does. In the mean time, I'll eat a lot of cabbage and wait for it to be fixed.

Now I can't cut trees, barricade with a plank and build from wood

Disabled all mods - did not help(

I have to disagree with this in the strongest way. My poor left hand is trying to walk and then stop and hit e while my good mouse hand does nothing? I've been in every night for weeks but I'm out until the mouse click to open doors is back. I know I'm not the most coordinated person on the planet and this really breaks the game for me.

The item type of sugar was changed from "drainable" to "food," so that it could be added to other food items (both as an ingredient and as a spice) + have nutritional values. So, that one is known at least. It's a mistake on our side, as a new item should have been created and old sugar set to "deprecated" to prevent the old sugar from disappearing.

It might be best just to spawn some new sugar in Debug or with Necroforge so you don't have to go hunting for it.

I can't reproduce this unfortunately. So long as the door hasn't faded, I'm able to click it to open/close it. Likewise, barricading is working here.

This also seems to be working correctly on an unmodded copy of the game. Note, in the carpentry menu, it says "One of" then lists hammer, ballpeen hammer, or stone hammer. You should not need all three.

In regards to the sugar situation, are you saying there is a new looking item in the game that is taking place of the sugar? I guess it would still be sugar but that it looks different? Also, I don't have Necroforge and I've never used Debug to spawn anything before. I'd really like to do that as I have collected loads of jars and lids to do preserving but now have no sugar.
