Insulation is here!... but its not all peachy.
Firstly, I think the Thermos menu has too many options. Is showing blood vessel dilation/constriction really necessary? The normal skin temp map makes it completely redundant in terms of meaningful information... unless your planning on adding drugs which alter such values. Same with persperation, is it actually necessary? I'm fairly sure body/clothing wetness maps cover that just fine in combination with the 'hot' and 'damp' alerts.

Also, now that we have insulation, players can't wear as many clothes as before until winter arrives. Okay. But why are the protection values unchanged? A buff to protection values of clothing was needed to balance this out and its completely absent. I complained about the unrealistically and punishingly poor protection values of clothes prior to this update and was informed that it was just to keep the game challenging until insulation was added. Welp, its here and no buff is to be found.

And I like complexity. But I also like realism.
Since we have specific sweat(??), can we get an option to remove our underwear when our characters get 'swamp ass'?

Agreed though, clothing protection values should've changed with a bit of a buff to reflect on not being able to layer up, most of it seemed in need of a small buff anyway.

Not exactly sure how useful all those extra options are but whatever, kinda neat I guess.

(Edit, makes sense after reading the pinned topic, go read it.)

Yeah I'm pretty sure that most of that information will be hidden eventually, but right now we just have their debug menu which does provide some useful information.

Vessel constriction could be (and likely is) affected by panic, thus panic could now create a secondary effect of increasing your core heat. Additionally, irl intoxication causes vasodialation, thus heat loss, quite contrary to the myth. Unfortunate side effect for me, I only ever drink ingame during those slow winter months.
Is it necessary? Dunno, but it's certainly relevant to systems that already exist. Why not? I mean if a player hates it, they don't have to get into the nuts and bolts of it, the moodles give them the shorthand. I'm looking forward to seeing exactly what causes what myself.

I for one certainly hope not. I like this thing.

I hope they at least remove the blood vessel part and such. I mean I can tell when I have sweaty arm pits, but the blood vessel thing seems a bit of a stretch. Can't recall last time I thought something along the lines of;

"Pfff it's hot in here, but it shouldn't be so I guess it's my blood vessels contracting in this specific area of my body..."

I'd imagine (hope) all the things that you wouldn't normally have good reason of knowing about, won't be visible anymore when they've worked out the kinks. One of the things I appreciate about PZ is that it doesn't provide information that you shouldn't logically have access to. Like not knowing the exact time of day without a watch.

This. Maybe the Doctor profession could get to see all that info, but the average person doesn't have that much info.

On the Thursdoid, they said it was a debug menu (it also has that name in game) and they intend to hide it in the actualy release, so you'll only have the moodles to tell you when something wrong is going on.

Denim short actually got a buff (it now also includes arms). But hem, it seems totally legit that you're more vulnerable when wearing a thin T-sort and short, than when wearing a jacket and a pant. You're supposed to get heat stroke as well if it's already very hot (and you're running a lot or fighting). I didn't test it a lot yet, but I'm sure you can still keep going with many clothes/protection on you, I guess you'll get exhausted faster and need to drink a lot (and get wet quickly).

My Charakter has to run around only wearing a short dress to not get overheated!Even if i only run maybe 50 m iam overheated!EVEN IN THE NIGHT!This system is ridiculous!Too complicated and destroying the game!

Can you run 50m without getting a little pumped?

Tell us why.

Because, For people that like to roleplay. They like to wear things. And temperature seems to obstruct that. Besides. I like realism. But making it worse and worse is not quite enjoyable. I guess its a unpopular opinion, But it would be still awesome to have some form of choice about this, and disable temperature. (or at least, ADJUST the certain settings.)

This. Every piece of clothing should give you some protection with bonus for multiple layers. I also think there should be blunt damage from zombie attacks, I never understood why they aren't swinging but only scratching and biting.
