You should be able to check the exact settings differences by going into sandbox and selecting your saved sandbox presets dropdown at the bottom. The core playmode baselines are there also.
Three biggest differences are:
- You can hit more then 1 zombie in a single swing of your weapon.
- Back vulnerability on survival is a bit lower, so a zombie coming up from behind doesn't guarantee a bite.
- It takes more then 3 zombies to overpower you and push you to the ground. (I think 5 or 6?)
EDIT: Just checked and these are pretty much the only changes. Except that survivor for some reason starts in September, where apocalypse starts in July.
Thanks! I kinda felt the "Swing more than 1 zombie" thing but that's way less obvious comparing to build 40.
So the back vulnerability can bypass the protection? That's a bit harsh.
Being surrounded by more than 3 zombies is certain bite anyway and I don't really see that as a difficulty nerf.
Guess I will stay with apocalypse, since survivor really didn't seems to be a solution for people familiar with old builds and want an easier gameplay.
It is when you run around the corner of a building, right into the eager arms of a small group of zombies. Or when you open that door prepared to end the zombie that was bashing on it and you are greeted by a few more then you bargained for.
Then again these things only surprise you once, maybe twice. After that you'll be more cautious.
