Can you pour gasoline on the ground?

I want to set a pile of zombie corpses on fire but I don't want to use a cocktail, is there a way to just pour gas on the ground and light it?

I think you need a lighter on the secondary and gas can on your primary to do that but it only burns on the one tile you pour gas on from my experience.

There's a mod that allows you to burn corpses at campfires which currently the only useful way for now.

What Pet said above is your answer - if you have gasoline and matches/lighter in your main inventory, just right click on a corpse (or pile of corpses you made) and you should see option "Burn corpse".
Any corpses in that tile will all end up as ashes.

You also need there gas to keep lights running and such. But there you can pour gasoline on the ground and use it as trap to burn enemies and stuff down, so you can make puddles of gas where trail of gas leads and use a match to burn things down from afar. I thought you got the idea from there:)

But yes as Sonny_Jim is saying is now possible in mod 41. If you have gasoline in your inventory(not sure it pops up when it is in your backpack) and matches, lighter, then next to a corpse you have the option to burn it. No clue what it does though i never wasted gasoline on one yet. Though i might try it out since i managed to get generators to two different petrol stations and still have 4 layed out waiting to be placed down, and have also 27 full cans at my safe house beside the 1-1 full can by the petrol stations:)

It was always possible - I used to burn with gasoline in Build 40 and prior.
When you burn anything in PZ it creates an item on the ground called Ash. You can't use it for anything and I am unsure if it contributes to "dirty" clothes but I recall you can clean it up with a shovel or something.
Time for you to test things out for science with those 27 cans of gas!

well i just burned piles of corpses. i too have a stock pile of gas and i am using super surviver mod so basically have them just piling bodies and after reading this i tried burning them.

it doesn't matter where your gas can is as long as your lighter is on you. if you click the ground with bodies it will give the option to burn bodies. beware fire will spread at least one space away. i burned 6 piles of zombies and every time two spaces burned. and it rained 8 hours ago in game not sure if when less moist if fire spread farther.

i burned 6 piles of bodies with one can of gas and it's not yet empty. it will burn all the bodies and items on the bodies in the pile.
