Why isn't IWBUMS the default version?
The game is Early Access, the game is supposed to be tested by the consumers so that we can report bugs etc that we might find.

So why would you not make the latest version the default one?
The more eyes you have, the easier it is to spot a bug.

"But people want to play a stable version and enjoy the game."
Should've bought a complete game, we buy Early Access games because we want to help.
Those who doesn't should be considered a minority.

So do the game a favor, switch IWBUMS to the default build, then make the stable the alternative instead. Not everyone is savvy enough to know how to switch builds and those people might want to contribute but instead only reports past problems that doesn't need fixing anymore.

Switch it around, it's why we're here in the first place, to test and help improve the game.
To be blunt, I was annoyed that I had to manually switch the build to be able to play and test the latest version.

How about no.

If people don't know how to enable IWBUMS which is basically 3 clicks, giving them a unstable and bugged version by default is like giving a gun to a monkey.

They chose to postpone build 41 IWBUMS because they were worried about people complaining/leaving negative reviews because of bugs and the like.

And since build 41 IWBUMS, I have seen a lot of threads complaining about performance, instability and bugs. You assume people understand what early access is, most don't.

So I'll have to agree with Fred on this one. Having the IWBUMS version a few clicks away is the best of both worlds.

You pretty much answered your own question

Early access for this game is pretty long, people are playing this game (and not really only testing) and IWBUMS gives opportunity to test the upcoming content without breaking current saved game.

It's called "beta branch" for a reason.

You want them to make the unstable and unfinished build the first thing people play? Sounds like a great way to get review bombed. Besides this game has been in development since before Early Access was even a thing.

Because dealing with the bug reports of a potential thousand(s of) people is nothing compared to dealing with the amount of feedback a potential million of players would provide.
Even though it's Early Access, there's still a certain quality and stability expected that we currently cannot guarantee. Not a good impression for first-timers.

Not to even mention it would be seen as ripping out a big feature of the game - namely Multiplayer.
I appreciate your concern but switching the two would harm the game, not do it any favor.
This is also not something that's new to Early Access games. There are plenty of examples where the beta channel was and is used for testing newer untested features before pushing them to the masses.

And the name is quite catchy, I WILL BACK UP MY SAVE. This beta update is quite cool especially things are becoming more 3D'ish where there is weight to your character now.
Theres still people who want to play multiplayer, It'd screw it up for those players if anims was ported to the stable build[when its very unstable]

I think having the most stable build should be the default and those that want to test the beta enable it with a simple right click. It is easy to revert and I go back and forth between multiplayer and solo iwbums.
