None of this is being worked on either by devs or modders. It’s just not that kind of game dude. Might wanna go play wizard 101. I don’t know how to mod.
You really can't imagine a flaming sword that destroys zombie corpses on_death? Or a quarterstaff that shoots lightning bolts instead of a pistol that shoots bullets... You can't? Wow.
Even when there's stuff like Cheat Menu, Vegeta Skin or Light Saber in steamworkshop... those two posts are your replies?
Thanks for the valuable input! ...dude.
Nothing else I can do for you. Go learn how to mod on youtube
It would be quite difficult to add the visual aspects of the things you describe with this games current state.
You would need to add more character animations. Which is not possible via the current modding support, without hacking into the game engine Java side (which would be nearly impossible)
And you would need to create and add into the game some kind of animated projectile class for your magic spells . Seeing as the guns don't actually shoot any visible projectiles in the game it's not a matter of replacing bullets with lighting. To make something like that actually look half decent would be a full time job for someone with extensive knowledge of Java , Java decompiling and PZ game engine.
If you willing to go for some kind of hack job solution that looks terrible. It could be done by making items that look like fire balls or lighting and having them move along the floor to be your magical projectiles
I too want to sucker-punch Cthulhu in its tentacled face using a giant animated sharknado fist attached to an stilted-frame kite-string lifted aloft into the breezy air by a legion of NPCs singing "Let's go fly a Kite!" in Project Zomboid but I guess we are both likely to be disappointed by the PZ devs.
Oh well, at least there is a sci-fi made for TV monster movie for that very scenario!
Go play something else
Search somewhere else
Why even post this? Who cares why they would want it? They do. That's really all you need to know. Move along.
BTW, why would you take anything but NPCs or Animations seriously at this point in the game's "development"? Nothing but one or both of those things will actually advance the game toward a release build anyway. So enjoy the little bit of silliness and have a harmless laugh at outlandish requests like adding blue colored pixie dust that turns your sprite into some kind of twisted Peter Pan without a single happy thought in his head or maybe throwing in some avatar of the Angel of Death now suddenly unemployed and wandering the PZ-ed earth in search of a mortal to save from undeath just so he can keep his job before he's made redundant or otherwise laid off by God.
If you want invisibility cheat menu has a ghost mode....plus there are mods like heroic weapoms and Frostmourne. Also, haven't tried it myself but I think nolanritchie put together a lasso/explosives mod...maybe rockets will suffice for firebolts?
The dev_mentioned anims/clothing system changes seem to bring me closer to the goal of changing character appearence. And since you can already throw stuff in-game, maybe it's possible to just change sprites? It doesn't have to look pretty, just easy to understand what it is.
Well now I gotta go get me a big cup of coffee and start researching. ;) Any suggestion on a place to start? Official forum, wiki, youtube?
Again, thanks for the replies!
Unlike you. I have faith in the dev team. This game will be amazing one day. Most of us here take development seriously.
