Gas after power shuts off

Hello just got this game it's a blast and now that I'm finally *getting* somewhere I'm trying to plan for the future. Can you use the gas pumps with a generator after the power goes out? I'm finding a lot of conflicting information that is a few years old. I'm not sure if this is a game feature right now or if I have to install a mod.

Yes you can, this has been added as a game feature. Just connect the generator to the gas station and get gas from it.

Wow, that was quick, thank you! And one more thing, are gas stations still limited to 2000 units per? And I imagine there's no fuel respawning on vanilla settings.

Yeah I am pretty sure the gas stations are limited somehow, though I am not sure if its per gas station or per the gas stand. There are several gas stations either way so you should have enough gas for a very long time.

I'm not sure if the gas stations will be operable on vanilla settings though. I know there's a little box you can tick in sandbox which allows you to power "outside squares," which explicitly includes gas pumps. Now whether this box is ticked or not in vanilla games, I don't know. I haven't played on vanilla in a LONG time! :D

I have hooked up my generator to collect some fuel from the gas pumps many times and the gas station has not ran out of fuel even after the power outage. I think the gas pumps might have unlimited fuel.
