Project Zomboid

Will zombies eat animals when they are out?
Like in the walking dead, they eat animals.

But in dawn of the dead they dont.

Wich one will be for this game? Will it be optionable like everything else?

I don't remember whether Romero zombies ate animals or not but the devs have said they won't in the game
I mean even if they did based on the Dev's history with the amount of options they give you it would probably be like..... Do zombie's eat deer? Rabbits? Bears? Do they eat all of the animal? Does some of the animal stay around? How long does it stay before rotting? Can you skin it if it's eaten? Does it give zombies indigestion? Does it give them super powers? How long before wild life spawns in cities? How fast do you want wild life to be? Can zombies smell a deer? Can a deer smell a zombie?

As Poloski said they probably won't add it but if they did they would give you the ability to zero in on exactly the experiance you want to have

Since animals have better senses than humans (and they should still have them better ingame) they gonna either flee because of noise and stench of zambie or in case of scavenger and carnivore, will try to hunt them and eat them.

I think that they could technically eat animals but most animals are simply too fast for zambies, too strong or have to thick skin to bite through. (or all above)

Also It would make it very hard for you to actually do hunting alone or even nearly impossible (and I'm not counting fact that firearms are not easy to use as in FPS games)

Romero's been inconsistent about this. In Night of the Living Dead, they were seen eating mice/rats and iirc worms. But later in (Survival) Of the Dead, they were riding live horses, not eating them. The Romero version of DotD didn't have any animals, and I'd prefer the remake never existed...

To me it's only about Night, Dawn and Day - after that it was... well... Fans pretend it never existed since to say that it was silly it not enough :P

They don't eat zombie corpses, so why would they eat animal corpses. Or even attack them for that matter, since apparently the zombification only affects humans, not animals.
What I know of classic zombies is they are not "necessarily" looking for 'meat', they are looking to infect other humans. Not saying they don't have a meal once in a while.

They do eat corpses that's why we find skellies every noe and then in PZ. Basically picked clean mr.Bones. You can see them chowing in fact. I accidently drove into 3 heaving a meal and being rude as I am - I simply got 3 in a price of damaged tires :D

What he means is they don't eat zombie corpses specifically. You killing a zombie will not result in zombies eating that corpse.

What do you got against the remake? I love that movie, yes it gets retarded after the first act but i still love it :)

@everyone else, well i see that animals wont be eaten, or that its rather unlikely to be implemented and that about answers the question, i will mark grey as the correspondent since he was more blunt about it.

My own opinion: the writing had as much depth as a pie tin. Thanks to Asylum Films and Uwe Boll, it's not my least favorite Z movie, but it's down there.
