Building not doing it???
I can't seem to place a wall in an area. nothing blocks it yet I can't figure out what to do

(EDIT) I'm talking about frames and not the walls themselves. I've been able to place most down but there are two areas that won't let me place anything at all

be sure you have nails and hammer in your main inventory and enough planks. Build the frame first.

If it is not supplies your missing, sometimes there is a little 'post' that blocks building in a square. This is where a sledgehammer comes in handy to see what is in the way.

Have you got your Carpentry skill up to lvl 2 (I think, that's the requirement)?

Have you got everything that is needed to build a wall / frame in your main inventory or on the floor nearby? To check this RMC > Carpentry > Wall > scroll over object you want to build and see if anything is in red.

Can you place a wall in any other spot? Is the ground clear at that place? Any debris or even grass can prevent you from building and will need clearing away beforehand...

To name a few things that can be causing this :)

so then what are the post for??? I thought you'd need to build them on any coner for walls to connect? Am I wrong?

Yes, they are for filling in the crack on the bottom left corner. But if there is one of those in a square, they are hard to see, and they WILL block you from placing anything else in that square. So that is why I suggested that, because it has gotten me several times while I was building and I either forgot it was there, or did not realize it. Sometimes, if you building onto existing houses, it can be roof pieces blocking you as well. That is why I suggest a sledgehammer, because it will highlight the piece in red.

EDIT:
To clarify, a post should only be placed in the corner most square. Placing a corner post in a square will make it so you cannot extend your wall any further because that 'square' is filled with that little post.
