BBQ and charcoal rebalance please?
So i figured i will check how useful bbq is for cooking.
Got some charcoal stocked up, took all that hardship to carry a few with me back to base.
Only to realize that one full 8 pounds of charcoal adds...30 minutes of fuel
This seems to be insanely low and completely not worth it:(
With 30 minutes of fuel most stuff cannot even be cooked. I would suggest to rebalance this, as currently this is quite useless.

If youre using hydrocraft you can make charcoal out of zombie corpses with a kiln

so actually it is hillarious. An 8 pound weighing charcoal will give the BBQ half an hour of operating time...whereas adding a simple branch will give 1 hour. And the twig 15 minutes.
The charcoal seems to be needing a rebalance i would say.
I've heard the propane grills add benefits to the food but I haven't tried it yet. When you were doing your experiment did you notice any difference in the food quality?

I never use propane to cook. I consider it a waste, since propane tanks are limited. There is only a set amount of them, since they do not respawn, no place to fill them, and once you found all the propane tanks that is it.

I used charcoal and used normal branches. I made a few hamburgers but those were terrible.
As in literally over 60 unhappiness for each. (was using mix of charcoal and branches)
But only had level 3 in cooking that time, since i just recently ran out of gofris, pancakes and all the prepared food i stored away. (but also used food that was not rotten and not fresh, probably quite near to rotting, since apparantly food rots in freezer too. not just the milk but all food, just takes a longer while!)

But i cannot yet confirm it, though i can give it a try later, since i still have a few charcoal, allthough i switched over to the branches completely. Since the frigging bushes and grass grows so fast, literally every second or third day is weeding out stuff and removing the bushes.

that is because you're not using the entire bag, a whole bag has 10 uses (10 x 30 mins per 1 = 5 hours of cooking)

You sure the meat hasn't gone bad? You know when any kind of food is bad if there is any sort of Unhappiness in the stats, especially before you start cooking. The only exceptions are condiments like Ketchup or Mustard that you would never eat on their own. I haven't tried cooking on a BBQ in a long time, but I highly doubt that you cooked fresh meat.

I'll test it out. I got a lot of charcoal still.

Zombie Hugger:
The plan was to test out if using charcoal will make the food taste "better". As i was asked to do so.

I have been using not rotten but not fresh stuff.(I know about the different kinds of food issues)
Funny thing though:
-hamburger: made of meat patties, slice of bread, cheese and something else -> 60 unhappiness
-roasting pan food: steak, chicken, pork loin chops, corn, peas, carrots -> +25 happiness
Each and every food was NOT fresh. (Well actually the cheese was fresh but did not matter altogether)

always use fresh food for meals, stale food is okay on salads but they rot quickly( any type of salad fyi), do NOT stack 3x of any same item, you will begin to build unhappy and boredom stats, stronger if you stack more, 2x of any item is fine. Rotten food can be used at cooking lvl 8 i believe and be safe but still. also burning food will add those neg stats. anything not in a pan, bowl, pot will be harder to cook I believe as well. Making a guide atm, will be testing these theories. GL all :D

also charcoal acts like any other item, doesn't make food better, that is your cooking skill. A lvl 10 will make food when heated/cooked VERY high in hunger reduction.

I was just testing it out for a player who stated a rumour about the propane based bbq grill.
And i know how food skill matters:)

The "Unusable Wood" you get from failed dismantling projects turns out to be not so "Unusable" after all. It adds well over an hour of cooking time to the grill. I can't remember off the top of my head but I wanna say an one hour and forty minutes.

I think it is an hour and seven minutes now. (Yesterday i placed 3 unusable wood and it was 3 hours and 21 or 28 minutes? something along these lines.)

Unusable wood each is 1 hour 30 mins.
