How do you crouch?

New to the game, been on and off it, and wondered if there was crouch button? Never could find it

press in on the left stick (L3) to toggle sneaking (crouched) and normal posture.

no idea what it is on the keyboard

Depends on if you're on the stable branch (40) or beta branch (41). 41 has a dedicated crouch button (C), in 40 it's just holding RMB counts as sneaking.

must be playing build 41 not 40 to crouch

You can check the key distribution that helps.
Also crouch/sneak as default for the new build is "C" whereas right mouse button, or fight mode is actually considered, silent step.(As per the skills.)

Ah Im still on the 40 branch and I couldnt see any key binding for it. Thanks for all the help :)
