good news is this game thought about it and i can pour the water from the wattering can into the plastic buckets so it all works out
You just gained 2 IQ points.
No, it shouldn't. You can boil water in a paper cup without the cup burning up (it will still burn somewhat depending on multiple factors, but it will still remain mostly intact and the water will still come to a boil and not leak from the cup). The same would happen with a plastic bucket, but even better. The water absorbs the energy (assuming the material isn't too thick) and keeps the material below melting point.
If you literally had a campfire and bucket of water in real life, you'd be able to cleanse it via boiling, assuming that it's not crappy plastic that melts below the boiling point of water.
Are you asking me or telling me? It's a convenient explanation for not changing the mechanic and it's a real-world explanation so it works, but if you're trying to say that this happens most of the time with most buckets in real life, it doesn't.
Most buckets you're going to find aren't going to be some cheap blue thing kids play with in the sandbox, they'll be the sturdy 5-gallon white ones. Those are made of polyethylene, and depending on the grade and impurities (just call it "quality") those don't melt until at least 240 F or so, and water boils at 211-212. Even 4 of the 6 most common recycled plastics have a MP above water's BP: https://education.seattlepi.com/hot-water-melt-plastic-3626.html
Now sure, the thing might warp a little, depending. But the point being made is that putting a bucket of water over a fire wouldn't destroy it, and you're more likely to be able to boil water in it than not.
What about those 5 gallon paint buckets he’s talking about almost every one I know has those in there garage would be a nice addishion yo could find them in warehouses and car garages
It would be convoluted if they added you getting cancer to the game from boiling water in plastic buckets that warp over fires...
So they just don't let you do it ;)
In reality, I play on the hardest loot settings in the game with as many zombies as I can manage to keep the game 'challenging'. Plastic buckets are very rare and cooking pots/saucepans are very common and abundant even in the hardest difficulty setting. You are being argumentative for literally no reason because even if you could boil water in plastic buckets it would not affect the game at all...
