Decorating the corkboard

I've been collecting corkboards for some time now, tried putting them in different places, on different walls, and everytime I place it, it is always empty. Is there any way to get it to place with notes on it? Thanks

Well, I'll at least throw this mod out there before the thread inevitably gets locked due to necro'ing, in case someone else stumbles across this in the future looking for an answer.

The Functional Appliances mod adds basic functionality to common appliances and other things found in PZ, including the little bulletin boards. Relevant section from the description:

Bulletin Boards:
Starting with the small corkboard, you can now add things into it's container and the random notices appear on the next update of the square. You can do this by clicking on the boards or waiting for the next square update if you leave the area.

It's a good mod, I use it for the other features primarily but the corkboard addition is a nice little touch for decorative purposes.

Someone suggested to me that it was tile-based.. that corkboards will appear different based on which tile they're placed. Never really tested to see if this was true.
