Why can't I play as an african american with a braids or an afro?
I see no natural african hairstyles in the hair selection. Why is this so? I only see traditional caucasian hair styles. As a black woman, I would have great difficulty keeping my weave in during a zombie apocolypse.

Please consider inclusivity by adding natural african hairstyles

Thank you

African American's make up for, according to the, 1990 US census counted nearly 30 million. So I believe our usual hairstyles under-represented in this game.

Some hairstyles I would like to see added:

Afros of various sizes
Cornrows and braids of various lengths
Jheri curl

Jeri curl FTW. But wasn't that more of an 80's thing? *chuckles*
We've got hair dye, why not?

This game...

Good suggestion.

You can still play as an African American. Having braids does not make up one's ethnicity. It was a way to set yourself apart among African tribes, but it didn't equate to you being African.
As far as that goes, Native Americans, Asians, and many others wore braids.
Just like not all non-Africans have straight hair and have braids..
Just FYI, braids are not natural, they are installed. And curly hair is natural for ALL ethnicities, not just Africans.

Very few people in Africa, from whom African American's are descendants from, have natural straight hair as depicted in the game. I would know, I lived in Africa for the majority of my life. In nature, we Africans "install" these hairstyles so therefore it is natural. I'm looking at the character creation page and there is no curly, even though I'm not sure why you mentioned this? They are all traditional haircuts which are straight haired. I never said braids were an ethnicity, either.

It would be nice if they expanded the appearance options. I'd like to see varying levels of obesity based on your current weight. What would be scarier than 160kg zed falling out of a 2nd story window on top of you?

I think it's safe to assume that character creation will be looked at in due time, however hair styles are probably near the bottom of the list of priorities. Ofc I don't speak for the dev's, but in comparison to everything they've done, adding a few extra hair styles could be done faster than a fat ***** falls down stairs.

Also I wouldn't worry about under-representation, think of the character creation as an "advanced place holder". Again, I don't speak for the dev's, but I think all the intended features of character creation are implemented, but could use expanding on or redressing (more hair styles, skin tones, starting clothes, traits, etc). If anything obvious isn't in there, it's just because there are more important aspects to focus on first.

Totally agree. I actually think that likely even the bonus malus system will be looked over. Just like it was in 41.(in 40 the hemophobic was a safe bet, in 41 it is a never take)
