Leveling First aid in solo game
So... My question is pretty simple: Since I'm careful, I'm still at level 0...
is there a way to level up first aid without having to hurting myself on purpose?

Nope.
On the upside having a higher level first aid makes very little difference and if you're careful you'll never really need it anyway :P

Make your hands safe and beware fractures - the rest injuries can be ignored at this moment. First aid is RIP.

if you play with mods Super Surviorsb mod you can heal other surviors and level first aid.

The best way I can think of is to break a window and keep climbing through it until you get cut. Obviously make sure to secure the area first and make sure you have everything you might need before you start, you don't want to climb through a window only to be nose-to-nose with a zombie or have to run around trying to find a suture needle while you paint the floor red.

The first aid skill book is pretty much essential if you're going to level first aid as ofc you won't want to risk more than 1 injury at a time, so it'll take longer than the 100 year war. If the 1st injury is a minor one (just a normal cut) then you can go for a 2nd, but disinfect + bandage the 1st injury before making a 2nd and patch the 2nd one up as best and fast as you can.

Make sure you have a safe place where you can recover and make sure it's stocked up to the eyeballs with food, water, medical supplies and entertainment. This way you can just hide inside a building and zombies (probably) won't be an issue while you're injured / not at full health. Remember to keep yourself well fed to speed up recovery and also this is the perfect opportunity to read skill books and magazines.

Definitely DON'T take the slow healer trait, it might not be *that* much of an issue with minor injuries, but if you get a fracture you're as good as brown bread. It won't kill *you*, but it will kill your enthusiasm to keep playing. After an in-game month of a fracture still not healed I just started again and didn't take slow healer.

Unless you did max out everyone else or jump through broken windows as a hobby there is not really any reason to level first aid tbh...

Best use a mod to cure or lessen the infection chance if you don't want to grind first aid for nothing, otherwise the first scratch from any random zombie could infect and kill you no matter your first aid skill.

If you really want to have useless first aid skill - do not climb through broken window. Never. it will cut your hands! Instead, you can walk barefoot on broken glass... or just run barefoot.

I'll try that...
"The safe place" stuff is none of an issue, since I've got my own fortress with fields, library cars and everythng..
There are a few buildings nearby with some shatered glass I didnt clean yet... so yeah, I'll got with the go and forth trough broken window... I'm sure my 2 x 65 Kg of medical supply crate will finally be useful

You can get cuts on your hands by digging furrows with your hands. All you need is a patch of dirt - no broken glass required. You can also get minor cuts on your feet by running around barefoot. I'd recommend avoiding walking over broken glass, since that's prone to cause deep lacerations on your feet will slow you down massively, even when bandaged.

There are mods you can install that allow you to dissect zombie corpses for First Aid experience, if you aren't a vanilla purist.

Be careful with the windows as you can get deep cut fairly easily, which will require stiches that are harder to come by then bandages and/or ripped clothes.

You can, alternatively, dig furrow with your bare hand for a chance of an injury (and some worms). All you need to do it in a safe place is a sack, a shovel and one moved tiled of dirt as you can repeatedly dig on the same spot.

You can also, if you're really a masochist, pick up broken glass and set it down in your base, take of your shoes and socks, and go dancing! ...just have a suture needle, thread, and tweezers at the ready.

Best suggestion I can make is to get the mod that lets you analyse corpses for medical experience. Otherwise best option is to hurt yourself, yeah.

I hop through broken windows a bunch and sit at home workin on the base and patchin myself up
