Trait interactions: Hearty appetite forces overweight?
I noticed in my most recent game keeping up with the hunger on a character with hearty appetite seems to cause them to gain weight exceptionally fast. Even when kept hungry or starving. Is this intentional?

I initially assumed the hearty appetite perk was indicative of the character's fast metabolism but now I'm not so sure and I was just wondering if anyone else could shed some light on the subject for me.

You just need to watch what you eat and make sure you've a calorie deficit. If you're hauling ass all over creation as a busy bee but sucking down 5,000 cal of chips and ice cream, you'll still get fat.

Another way around is to take underweight, you'll start out at 70 weight units so eat away while you can.

I understand that, but like I said I attempted to keep the character at hungry and very hungry, only dipping into eating berries and other foragables of the like when he was starving for a period. Thus my observation is that because of the seperation between the moodles and actual calories consumed it seems that the hearty appetite trait nearly forces the character to rapidly gain weight.

Sounds like a feature that has not been thought out yet by the devs.

Hearty appetite should also be coded to go through calories faster. Not just make you hungry faster.

I agree but could they add a trait "fast metabolism" to the game?

With the new calorie system implementation, Fast Metabolism would be a good trait to add into the game.

It's a double edge sword, it helps to keep the calorie count down but not eating enough will result being underweight. Another problem. :/

Maybe Hunger should just be directly tied to your calorie amount, instead of being a seperate modifier. Sounds to me like that would solve almost every issue.
