Unable to place down object? It's killing me! ;(
Not in a fun situation. Moving around furniture, when I picked up a couch to move it. Now I can't place it down. And because it's so heavy, it's actually KILLING ME. I'm taking damage and I don't know what to do. It won't let me place the couch down. No matter wear I aim it. Inside, Outside, anywhere! It also ruined my floor. </3

I just need to know HOW to place is down. Or if I'm just going to die by a damn COUCH of all things.

Make sure you have both pieces of the couch. It'll say "[couch name] 1/2" and "[couch name] 2/2". You need to have them both either in your inventory or in the vicinity.

Had the same problem. It's because you have only 1 peace of it. You can drop it by selecting "drop from inventory

I dismantled a brown lazy couch and it only spawned piece 2/2. I can't drop it and it's slowly killing me from overweight. Multipart furniture needs to be droppable.

You can drop it. Look at @Kebub comment above.

You can eat to keep from loosing health from it.

It's not droppable. I have tried hold click and drag out of inventory, and there is no drop option in the right click context menu. The only options are equip, favorite and place. I *CAN* transfer it to a stirage container though so at least I'm not dying anymore.

The ground your dropping it on must have enough space or you cannot drop it.
It is also possible you have a mod that is causing the no drop issue.

Ended up throwing the couch into a garbage bag and dumping it in another house. Thanks for the help!

It is a bug that has not been corrected even today...

I'm betting for your statement to be true it'd have to be so narrow a set of circumstances as to demand specifics. I move furniture of all types around often with no difficulties.

When you only have one of the necessary pieces, the game does not let you throw that piece away.

Possibly under very specific circumstances. I just tested this under four different environment conditions (The three stock difficulties and a random sandbox) and I could not duplicate the problem.
You can drag a lone piece to a tile with enough capacity to deal with it. (eg large fridge has 2x40# pieces. You can drop a single piece to a tile that has no more than 10# present on the ground)

If you've found something anomalous, then get your savegame to a mod or provide a pastebin.

I do not think it is something particular about my game since it is a simple sandbox game with nothing strange, I disassembled a 20 kg wardrobe which generated 2 parts, without realizing it I took only part 2 and when I got home I couldn't take it off of the inventory, my maximum weight was 13 for which I was dying little by little. After that I decided to uninstall the game since my MANUAL backup was a long time ago.

Okay, what version were you running? I cannot guarantee your save would work on IWBUMS branch, depending on how much has changed since your uninstall, but if your environment were stable, this bug would not exist with the current version.
