Zombie spawn big bug in the Mall
I decided to go and check out the Mall, I got there and killed a lot of zeds without too much difficulty, then I decided to explore what exactly is in the Mall.

Problem is, the zombies in the Mall do not spawn correctly. 2 times I walked into an empty room, walked for a few seconds, then dozens of zeds appeared in the room all around me, the second time was fatal for my character who had survived more than a month...

This bug makes it impossible to check out this place, and it didn't happen because of my computer, I have very good fps all the time, my computer already had hundreds of zeds on screen without any difficulty in the past, so I don't know what causes this, but I don't think it's on my side.

It happens to me all the time too. I think it has to do with the way the mall is 'optimized', with the room bounds or something.

The only thing you can do is stop running into the mall shops (different room bounds). You should instead, step into the room and stop, wait for the zombies to spawn, then back out. Once they have spawned, you can kill 'em or guide them out of the mall, then race around back inside and loot the shop/room.

Yeah, but that's not really the point, a bug like that needs to be eradicated, it is very dangerous and annoying.

Here is mine.

Intel Core i7-4771 Haswell Quad-Core 3.5GHz (8 virtual cores)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB Memory
CORSAIR RMx RM1000X 1000W ATX12V PSU
MSI Radeon R9 380 GAMING 4G 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5

I don't have a problem with hundreds of zombies on the screen, if that is the question. And they are on fire...

Yeah I do.

It might be off topic given how you say, "walked for a few seconds..." which sounds like something more technical, unless you're actually tired and your awareness is severly reduced, which can certainly 'seem' like Zs come out of nowhere.

But I often play Sandbox. And if there was only one thing I change, it would be that Zs don't respawn in an area until at least 3-4 days after the area has been seen.

the mall and the prison are the biggest Lag zones it might be due to the large zombie hoards in that area.

This is why I stay away from those areas.

My character was perfectly healthy, not tired, and the zeds directly spawned in front of my eyes (and behind my back), I don't really see how I wouldn't be able to see nor hear 30 zeds in the same room until I was in the middle of it, and twice.

Can't (totally) reproduce it. First few minutes after teleporting into the mall, the lighting didn't load in, so I was basically walking round in shadows. Once it did, it was similar to what you described: zombies just popped in. But after that initial hiccup, it seemed fine. They appeared in my line of sight as I walked from room to room.

So not sure what to suggest here. I'm playing at 3840x1600 with a Radeon 980ti and a i7-6700k. It's a better card than the 380, but it shouldn't matter that much. I'll try it on something less powerful, like an Intel 530 later.

It happened on the West side of the Mall first, then on the East side, it probably was a distance long enough to reproduce the bug, but yeah while this bug is active, it's impossible to explore the mall. :/

i think i got the same thing, but not in the mall, but in the hospital from the bedford mod. close to same situation, i cleared out like 100 zeds outside already, went inside, cleared another 20 until the room i entered the hospital was empty.

there was no bumping, growling, whatsoever. i was 100% health, no moodles running. then i opened a door... and.... PLOP.

around 50+ zeds instantly spawned in the room directly on top of me, i was instantly surrounded. they didn´t walk in or the likes. sure thing i was dead in 5 seconds.

and no, i got no lag (they really spawned instantly, no stuttering, nothing) and my rig does handle the game quite good so far. even with 100+ zeds on screen (and no i didn´t fire a gun or a noiser) =).
