They say this is sandbox, but this is simply boring empty world with a lot of small interesting mechanics.

Game lacks any ideas or objectives. Gameplay goes to - find good place, kill z`s around, scavenge some refrigerators, up some skills, build some staff, start farming on the roof fast enough. This is enough to play maybe a week. And thats all. You get two generators, one for your home and another for nearby gas station.
All your fun is repetative - gather resources in the woods, tend farm, go walk and hunt z`s with your spear, eat a lot, sleep a lot.
World is empty and thats sad. This game have a nice idea and some mechanics btw.
And please, let us turn off these random screamers.

Yes, I cleared all the surroundings. Woman cry loud suddenly? really? Like these stupid low-rating horror films, with nothing more than just a screamers.

So, empty world is the main boredom cause ) Any ideas or thoughts on this?

any sandbox games has always been boring if you don't know what you are doing and don't have any goals. That's why the tutorial/easy mode/themepark section mode is there for most of those games to provide direction. So if you don't know what to do yeah its boring.

Morning. I live in the maldro north warehouse. It has electricity, some farms, barricaded and nicely furnished (okay, last is not true, but lets imagine its true). I have enough food and no objectives. I can play almost forever only walking to forage over the road, tend farm once per some days, and maybe trapping if I want.
But it is not required. Im sitting on the huge pile of grown/trapped/foraged food and it is boring. No sudden radio help request, no swat groups, blocked and required some help, no npc with possible trades, help requests, quests or just simply partnerings. I have to do everything by myself, to up every single skill. And this all is only to get to the point there all these skills are not required anymore.
I dont need 1k grown vegetables, 1k trapped animals, 1k killed zombies. I gust yawn and close game. No more interest. Thats basically all )

Think of the reason why it's called "Sandbox"
If you had real, physical sandbox to play with, there isn't really any goal you have to accomplish.
You have to decide what you want to do with the sand.

Other sandbox games provide you with goals and directions, especially RPG games such as Elder Scroll, Witcher and other games. I think they weight more to RPG aspect, while PZ lean toward Sandbox. So it's matter of, is it "RPG Sandbox" or "Sandbox RPG"
(I hope I made my points clear)

If you find it too easy to survive, try fiddling with the sandbox options, such as sprinter zeds with eagle eyed vision.

About the random screamers, I believe there is an option for it as well.

You allways can go play minecraft if u want true sandbox or go play left 4 dead 2 if u want linear gameplay (both have zombies )

You are in the end of the world full of zombies, what do you expect the game to have?

Really? No ideas?
Small non infected groups, barricaded and fighting.
Army raids, with possible help to them or save from them
help/quest request from npc

Communicating With The World. World, where something happens.
Here I am the center of the world and noone more exists and nothing is changed and it is only me sitting in the warehouse. Total boredom.

One of the best games with the full alive world is the Space Rangers, by russian devs. Here you can be tired on the game process but it is not boring )

It's in early access so you cant exactly expect a goal to be spoonfed to you like other sandbox games. Make your own personal goal. The whole point of sandbox is controlling what you want to do if the game dont show it then you change the settings to what you want. If you are satisfied with making it to the point you can survive forever then you did it you completed your goal so its boring now. So unless you make your own personal goal then thats it.

Explore the other mechanics, settings, etc if you dont find what you like yeah its boring then move on to other games.

Im not sure if you know what "sandbox" is. Imo sandbox game means that u can do anything u want and you create your own goals. So ye i think minecraft is very sandboxy sandbox

Me(3 yrs old): Hey, I like to play these cubes, but there are only 3 of them. Its a bit boring to play them long
You: you can throw them, stand on them, jump with or without them etc.

Man. Here is so little cubes to play with. Sorry )
I can do all of these but Im boring even on the start, because every new game is a small gring with only 3 cubes.
