How to pick up and move furniture?

Im new and am really enjoying the game but how do you pick up and move furniture via decorating/barricading etc? the only option i seem to get is to dismantle it

Buttons on the left side of the screen. Bottom one. Click and pick appropriate option.
Pressing R while in pickup mode allows you to switch between objects in the same tile.

You missed it because the UI isn't very consistent. Sometimes you can perform an action by right-clicking on the screen; sometimes by right-clicking in your inventory; sometimes that works while the item is in a bag, but sometimes you need to move that item to your main inventory first (it can seriously hurt your legs). And sometimes you need the buttons on the left side of the screen. Ya.
But you figure it out quickly by playing the game.

I've adjusted to the inventory pretty fast. Im just not used to how slow everything is so its stressful managing and moving and such so much but still fun since its perma death and intense feeling
